long time no speak, and getting very bored, to Light/Ryuk proportions (yes, you read that correctly >_>) and all work and no play makes for much grump so I've played around with 'mv-making to try to make up for the net-lacking...
Who knew it was so fun? But seriously; I need a new laptop soon or at least to upgrade this one (am squirreling the dosh away in the meantime) an possibly get some mobile-net to go with it...
Plus side; have settled in alright at new place, though still prefer home because of the fact that's it's more...comfortable for me to sprawl out in without being bothered unduly (housemate codenamed 'Dumbo' is a pervert...and not content with having four kids of his own, plus wives in two different countries has repeatedly hit on me despite my caustic refrains of, 'not interested, now or ever', 'get a bloody dictionary and stop asing me to speak English on your behalf when you bloody well know how' or 'do your own effing laundry, 'cause I'll bloody well throw it in the bin if you leave it in the washing machine.' Chauvenistic, womanising...Bastard...-.-' oh, and Mariessa's interested in him...-.-' and he saw her when she came to visit and keeps pestering me for her phone number...they can bloody well manage their own affairs, and I do mean affairs... ) I'm glad that mum and dad are happy there though it makes it hard to hint about moving again now that we're settled in...oh, well, I save on the travel time 'cause it's only 2mins from the workplace (houseshare fyi) and 'cause we have two bedrooms to ourselves and free reign over kitchen, living room, garden and bathroom (especially when Dumbo and friend aren't home, though the friend is normal enough) for (I swear this is true) £160/wk.
Hurrah? Well, just a while until Winchester...if I live that long...elaboration? Why not...
Boss asked me to help some of the staff find a place close by considering my apparent success thus far (oh yay; management skills learned getting some mileage...) so, asked the usual; number of people staying, budget, radius for travel etc and get this, spent three separate evenings after work working on this with zero pay for it (Martina said that I'm stupid...she's right -.-') doing A, looking up properties on the net, B, contacting agents (about 10 different ones in total) C, discussed best options, D, arranging viewings on suitable properties, E, *walked* to the bloody viewings...-.-'...and F for (f-ing-finally), talking over with the 'clients' (hah) about which would be the best option...
la di da, found one with four bedrooms, garden, well-fitted bathroom blah within five minutes (lazy) walk of the workplace for £1300/mth, 6 month contract...okay. Except that, now the guys wanna move in straight away and in a rather messy interlude where they manage to show the agent sent to show us the property just how much they want it (bad idea that, I could have haggled about the bills a bit more and almost had the TV licence given when they started going on about how 'good' the place was...damnit) only to find that the agent had another viewing due at 7 (pm) and would need a holding fee (yeahyeah) to keep the property for them until they could pay up the deposit (1300) plus one month's rent...so they panic ked and ask my opinion to which I go heck no, it's gonna be your place, you decide, damn it (otherwise I'd get blamed for their course of action...this has happened before, usually with my mum and Mariessa..-.-') so they decide to view another place, try and get hold of the boss (turns out that between them they don't have the amount necessary for the rent so want a loan...lord save me from the utter shambles this is, considering everyone assured me beforehand that they could afford, and I quote, '1500/mth'....-.-') who never leaves his phone on once home and yeah...they panic and put down the holding fee, only to not get loan from boss and considering holding fee was non-refundable unless due to agent-error...yeah.
Then without telling anyone, they go and get a place in Hackey for 100/mth, three bedrooms....and put down 500....-.-' so I had to inform the agent of this, spinning something up about how the agent didn't call back when they said they would regarding moving in that week, and telling them that my 'client' needed two weeks time to get the money together....and was told I had two weeks due to the holding fee but they'd hold it a bit longer 'cause they understand that no-one wants to lose money and that to phone them to keep them updated on the matter...Shambles....so they're waiting for Charlie to come back from America to grant them a loan (he's a softie, and the boss' brother...) and in meantime I get to play musical phones with the agency; the guys still want this place anyway, cause Hackney's bloody far when you hafta work at 3-something am....le sigh, and the boss told me off for not 'stopping' them from being hasty....like I'm going to tell people twice my age (or older in any case) what to do beyond giving advice....bloody sjdfhksahf -.- </div>
So, stress-related-work aside... Back to self; have handed in relevant documents to SLC and am awaiting reply. Winchester have sent me an induction pack (yay!) and have to sort out housing there....and mum wants aunt Biak over for visit (lord save me from rash actions...) and the usual drama is happening over there yada yada...oh, and Marian's back with more interrogation about my doings; damn it. Can I have a day of peace, no? Yes? Kthanlxbai...
;p
